Southeastern Louisiana University encourages all students to apply for admission. Students who do not meet all stated criteria may be admitted on an individual basis. In such cases, the admissions decision will be based on the student's potential for completing a degree and the need to enhance the diversity of the University's student population. Some factors to be considered may include age, ethnic background, creative talent, and life experiences.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL APPLICANTS:
High School Transcripts:
If you are a Beginning Freshmen and Transfer Students with fewer than 12 hours earned who graduated from a Louisiana High School in 2004 or later: We will request your seventh semester and final high school transcripts from the Board of Regents and the Louisiana Department of Education's Student Transcript System. It will not be necessary to have transcripts sent to Southeastern from your high school, unless you graduated before 2004.
If you graduated from a Louisiana High School before 2004 or from an out-of-state high school: You will be required to submit an official copy of your high school transcript upon applying to the university. For out-of-state students, initial admissions decisions may be based on your seventh-semester transcript. An official final high school transcript containing the date of graduation must also be submitted after graduation.
If you took the GED: A copy of your scores or your diploma must accompany your application.
If you are a student who graduated from a state-approved home study program: You will need to submit a copy of your home school transcript, if available.
ACT Scores:
ACT scores are a requirement for admission and are used for placement in English and Math. If you have not taken the ACT, you will need to register for the next available test date and have your scores sent to Southeastern Louisiana University (college code: 1608). For more information please contact the Office of Testing.
Proof of Immunization:
The proof of immunization form must also be completed and returned before you are fully accepted to the University. The state of Louisiana also requires that proof of immunization for two (2) measles, one (1) mumps, one (1) rubella vaccination and one
(1) Meningitis be given along with proof that a tetanus diphtheria vaccination was given within the last 10 years.
University and College Transcripts:

Transfer applicants, including those with fewer than 12 hours earned, must provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities previously attended.
BEGINNING FRESHMEN FROM LOUISIANA HIGH SCHOOLS:
To be fully admitted to Southeastern, first time freshmen who are graduates of a state approved high school must meet the following criteria:
1. Completion of the Regents High School Core Curriculum, AND
2. Have no more than one developmental course requirement, AND
3. Meet ONE of the following criteria:
Criteria 1 Criteria 2 Criteria 3 ACT Composite of at least 20 High School Rank in the upper 50% of the graduation class High School cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale

BEGINNING FRESHMEN FROM OUT-OF-STATE HIGH SCHOOLS:
To be fully admitted to Southeastern, first time freshmen who graduate from an out-of-state high school must have no more than one developmental requirement and meet the criteria in ONE of the following three options:

OPTION 1
Meet the same criteria as students who graduated from a Louisiana public or private high school as listed above.
OPTION 2
Meet ALL of the following criteria:
ACT composite of at least a 20, AND
High school cumulative grade point average of 2.0/4.0, AND
High school rank in the upper 50% of the graduation classHave an ACT composite of at least a 23.
