Making your talents work for you

The Department of Music and Dramatic Arts offers scholarships to highly motivated music students who demonstrate the potential for success. These awards are based on artistic merit and academic excellence. Consideration for scholarships is given during a student’s audition for study in the department.  Scholarship winners are expected to maintain a high degree of performance excellence through involvement in major ensembles and make satisfactory progress toward a degree.

Highly motivated non-music majors performing in major ensembles and studying in their applied area may also audition for a limited number of scholarships.

Graduate students are eligible for graduate assistantships which include a stipend in addition to tuition and non-resident fees. Responsibilities may include classroom teaching, applied lessons and/or assisting in ensemble programs.

The Department of Music and Dramatic arts uses a single application process for all awards. All incoming students must audition for a panel of faculty members.  Students must complete a scholarship/application form and bring it to their audition. All applications are submitted to and reviewed by the Department Scholarship Committee. Determination of each award is made by the committee.
